There was a 5.0 earthquake in Los Angeles last night. We didn't feel it, but I heard from a few people in that area and they sure did feel a nice jolt! This just happened to coincide with the hottest day of the year so far - It hit 109 on my back porch, but the new assured us that it was "only" 105 out there! Today is heating up as well with some humidity which is unusual for our area and makes for a swamp like feeling outside today. Think I'll be hanging out INSIDE!
I'm sure that you are bored with hearing my problems. I know I'm tired of them!
However, I thought I'd take a quick moment and fulfill any curiosity on the bathroom saga here. Not much to update on. No work has been attempted. I'm SO frustrated with it, but no sure where to go from this point. I did receive a Mother's Day phone call from the handyman who assured me that he was feeling better and would be here the following day (last Monday) and of course, he did not show or call since that phone call. A week from today is my birthday and hubby asked what I wanted for a gift and my answer was "a bath in my new tub". I'm a little down over this whole mess. : (

Oh we have the heat and humidity here today too. Hot as hell, overcast and windy. Yuck.
I tell you, I would be past frustrated with that handyman. I would be screaming my head off at him. Whatever happened to him sending someone else over? Time to get tough Cin.
I hope that handyman didn't take your money and run. I would definitely nail him down to a date where he is coming back to finish the work and if he doesn't show, tell him you are afraid you will have to contact an attorney if he isn't planning on following through with his end of the deal. Did you sign a contract? does this guy actually have a company? Maybe you can talk to some of his other accounts to see if this is the way he does business.
mercy!! that's really HOT weather!
i've never understood the contractor mentality.... seriously, how do those kinds sleep at night?!
it may be time to cut your losses with that guy, no? i feel bad if he's really sick and feeling poorly but jeez...... he should have hired a sub to finish the work he can't at the very least!
not that i'm supporting this idea for you, but a neighbor of mine went thru the same thing..... they posted a huge sign in their yard so cars could see they had a complaint with the company and it wasn't getting resolved. the sign was out for 3 days before the city asked them to take it down.... but hey-- word definitely got out to beware!
I think I would be all over that handyman. Your project is long overdue and you have been far more patient than I. I agree with the others - time to get tough!
